About
The Candy Champions started, honestly, as an excuse to eat sweets.
It has turned into something slightly more organised than that. We travel for candy, stopping at sweet shops and confectioneries that most people drive past, and we film what we find. Then we come home and try to make it ourselves, which works about as often as you would expect.
What is on this site
Two things. Recipes we have actually made in our own kitchen, written down properly, including the parts that went wrong the first time. And reviews and travel notes from the candy we track down on family trips.
The recipes lean no-bake and thermometer-free, not out of principle but because most of our cooking happens with children in the kitchen and a limited window before someone loses interest.
Why you should believe any of it
Because we made it, ate it, and in several cases made it badly first. Where a recipe has a step that seems fussy, it is there because skipping it ruined a batch. Where a note says something will seize or go grainy, that is not a warning we copied from somewhere.
How this is paid for
Some posts link to equipment on Amazon and we earn a small commission if you buy through one. It costs you nothing extra, it never decides what gets recommended, and we do not take payment for placement. The full version is on our affiliate disclosure page.
